| I feel like the song is basically saying, there was a girl who did all kinds of things that maybe weren't so good, such as running around with other guys. But she always had some kind of excuse (But last night you said you ended up in Palm Springs dancing on tables). But eventually, he just gets tired of running around behind her (What am I supposed to be, impressed?) He's saying she's nothing so amazing that he should just stay and deal with her crap. And that's basically what the title says, like, You Need A Jacket, you need me to be there for you, I'm Low On Gas, but I can't keep just running around you for stupid things like this metaphorical jacket. | |
