My interpretation is it's about pain or sickness. Or more, dealing with it. Pain is the "devil" you are fighting. "Here I stand Helpless and left for dead" Left for dead is a feeling you feel when you are sick and in pain.. "Close your eyes So many days go by Easy to find what's wrong Harder to file what's right" Hours feel like like days, and days feel like weeks. It's harder to focus on the good. "I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies I won't stay long, in this world so wrong" I can see a time when I'm not in pain. But it seems distant/ "Say goodbye As we dance with the devil tonight Don't you dare look at him in the eye As we dance with the devil tonight" You are fighting, holding on. "Trembling, crawling across my skin Feeling your cold, dead eyes Stealing the life of mine" You sometimes shake. You sometimes feel cold. You feel like crap. "Hold on Hold on" Just hold on. It'll be okay. |

I take the non-Christian view. So, I believe this is about the people who fuel you to live, the people who fuel you to wake up. They help you through tough times, and wake you up. And my strength is fading fast You breathe into me at last I'm awake, I'm alive Now I know what I believe inside They support you through your dreams, whatever they are. It's as simple as that. I'm at war with the world This line shows that there are people who put you down, and hurt you. Anyways, that's my interpretation. |
