It's She was enraged by the way... Not She was She wasn't raged. Amazing song though. I think it's about how people use travel to get away from their childhood/past experiences, how they use it as a coping mechanism. I especially love the line "who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up, and revel in nostalgia"- great description of a stagnant regional city! Sheffield perhaps? |

Also read in NME that the common in the song "dead in the middle of the c, o double m, o, n" is a reference to a place near where the band grew up. A lot of dodgy characters used to hang out there including a gang called the mandella boys "little did i know then, that the mandella boys soon became mandella men". Such a dark song, but I love it :D |

| Plain and simple love song. So sad though, never fails to make me cry :( | |
| alt-J – Tessellate Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Not sure what exactly this song means, but the verb "tessellate" means to fit perfectly two or more identical shapes. That could refer to how he and his lover are a perfect match for each other, but I think it's more likely to be a covert sex reference (seen as he says "til morning comes, let's tessellate" ie let's have sex). Makes sense too seen as its a very sensual song :) | |
