| I think this song is about misconstrued motives and the subsequent fallout and its effects on a relationship. I don't think the relationship in the song is romantic probably just a friendship although could be good friends. I read somewhere that the band was close to breaking up at the time this song was penned so that could be some inspiration for the lyrics. But i think the song describes a misunderstanding over something inconsequential, the subsequent argument fueled by pride, a buildup to the argument. Then the realization that the only way to get past this and move on is to forget why it even happened. | |
