She just happened to release this song 11 years after 9/11?? I think the first verse of the song automatically makes it seem like it has to do with politics. The moment I heard this song I thought of politics..or at least Presidents. "Almost thought we made it home, But we don't know this place at all" Reminds me of how Obama lied and said he was going to "pull troops". He may have pulled some troops to make it look like the war is dying down..but I know people who are gettng sent out to Afghan more frequently than normal. So people may think "Oh, people aren't getting sent out" when, in reality, just the same people are getting sent out. "Fire from the tongues of liars" has to do with ALL the presidents...and their lies they have created to make them look good. |

| I agree with you that it could be about 9/11. After listening to the song a lot, cause I was also confused about the father part, I realized that maybe it's about Bush and his father? I'm sure a lot of the presidents were drunk a lot. "You're ashamed of what you've done" could be refering to sending the troops out in the first place. "Crying cause your father's wrong" could be maybe stuff his dad did when he was president..I'm not sure about that one. "Trying to be something new, You feel that you had something prove" maybe he felt he needed to prove to people that he could be a good president and not live in his dads shadow. "You're afraid of who you are, crying cause your fathers gone, clining to your youthful truth, you'll find that you've nothing to lose, you'll fund that you've nothing to prove" maybe is saying he realizes his mistakes in the end...maybe he sees that he is just like his dad and even though his dads not president anymore he is still making choices he believes his dad would make. I dunno, that's just what I got out of it after listening to it. | |

| When I first heard this song I thought of the war going on over seas. It's been 11 years since the 9/11 attack. And the "fire from the tongues of liars" could be refering to the lies the presidents have been telling and thngs they are hiding. | |
