I think this song is about two friends who are in love, but one of them is in a relationship. Though their friendship is closer than the relationship than they are in, one is afraid of the other's expectations so they remain friends. They still know eachother best, but their friendship starts to become strained and bitter because she can't stand to see him in the relationship with someone else. In the end, they have to make a choice and, since she fears she'll never be the sort of person he knows she can be, she decides to sever the friendship. In doing so, she breaks his heart. |
