The Sound of Animals Fighting – This Heat Lyrics 9 years ago
I personally think that this song is about dealing with a drug addiction and trying to help other people overcome their own addiction.

"It's making me nervous how every day feels the same."
Referring to the want and need to do the drug.

"Meet my phantoms, they never seem to want to go away so they stay."
Admitting the problem.

"I found a good place to score everyone i know to come and rest. All I ever wanted is for everyone I know to come and rest"
The writer found a good connection for the drug and the addict wants all of his friends to come and rest while high on the drug (most likely some sort of opiate.)

"How's your body. How clean is your soul?" Contemplating the damage the drug has done to the body and soul.

"Why are you trying to steal my thoughts before they fly/form/come"
The addict knows they are addicted to the drug but denies it and thus other people who are worried about them are stealing the thoughts before they are formed.

"If everything's fine what are you waiting for?"
If everything is fine and the addict can live without the drug, then what are they waiting for to quit?

"Sure it's more than love and go and love and go"
It's harder to quit the addiction than thought. You can't just love something so much and let it go so easily.

"Kid where's your pride? Use your time. Waste of life. Feel the music change your mind."
Trying to convince the addict to take pride in their life and health. They must not waste their life and use their time on something more productive. Feel the music change their mind about their own drug addiction.

"Where's your body? Where's your soul?
How far has their body and soul gone after the drug addiction compared to where it was before the drug addiction.

I know a few lines may be missed, but all the lyric interprettations for this song are off. I have my own interprettation and tried to make it to the best of my knowledge of how the syllables are sounded out.

I hope my thoughts about the song sheds new light on the song and gives new perspectives as to what the song is about. Their lyrics tend to be pretty out there and I believe they are far bent to different meanings from what they were originally intended. The meanings in my opinion tend to be more direct and trying to help people with their problems.
