I truly love this song. When it comes down to The Scientist and Warning Sign, I'd never be able to choose. This song definitely talks about being in a very deep relationship. You want to get close, but you're scared, so the only thing you can do is find ways to push this person you love away and when you finally succeed in doing so, you find out that you make a monumental mistake. The last resort and best is to be honest.
"When the truth is, I miss you." |

I agree with tsdude. I think the song is about a friend he is in love with and is trying to warn her of despair that is coming into her life. The lines, "Careful where you stand, my love. Careful where you lay your head. It's true we're always looking out for one another." makes me think that he's definitely trying to save her and warn her about something that may happen. Them being really good friends is where the equal partnerships comes to play in my mind. |

I honestly wished I would have waited to get the CD and listen to the song, but the song does seem to fit the mood that I'm in in, so it's all good. I've loved Coldplay since "Yellow" was released way back in like late December of '99. I have yet to buy either of their albums, but I have a birthday coming up soon, and "Parachutes" and "Rush" on the first on my list. Twenty three days and counting. |
