I think he sings 'One minute snake charming, The next day I'm not ok'. It could be either I suppose but it is a brilliant song and should have been on the proper album rather than the bonus. I am guessing it is just about modern life in general though. |

There are no strings in the NASA moon footage, they are all aerials, reflections and camera glitches! Plus I have an interview with Thom and Ed O'Brian in a guitar magazine where he says he thinks the Moon Hoax conspiracy is indicative of modern day paranoia and the inability of people to accept things they can't achieve themselves. I'm not being horrible mate, I genuinelly thought you might be interested in that. Peace bud. |

I have a live version of this that is a bit longer as well as the In Rainbows bonus version. I think like lots have said it seems to suggest death, religion and in a sense - hope. Even though it is generally quite gloomy in it's ambience. There is a slight sound of desperation in it to me as well. The live version I have is a lot more sort of 'clattery' and distorted. I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me a lot. |

Some of these comments are good but some are just silly! I saw Radiohead perform this at Glastonbury 2011 and a few weeks back at another concert. I think the listed lyrics are as close to what he says as were going to get.
People always assume practically every song is a love song or about couples! Thom Yorke rarely writes love songs, I think if you are starting out with the idea that every song can be interpreted to be about feelings and love then you are heading right down the wrong alley. Reading practically any interview with Thom about his songwriting says that. I think its about pressures of modern life and how the whole consumer world we are forced to partake in is quite an evil thing. But unlike some on here I am prepared to accept that is just my opinion. All songs should just mean whatever you think they mean for you. I am a songwriter and I am happy for people to take whatever they want from my lyrics if it gives them comfort and I'm sure Thom feels the same. |
