its not just that it amuses us or we like violence and death and destruction. Its that it is necessary. "devour to survive so it is, so its always been" basically he is saying embrace it. pull your head out your hippie ass. if you want peace prepare for war type of thing. and stop acting appalled at it when its inside you too. Its pretty simple how this song relates to the military. I was in the army. He's talking to the military as an institution, basically calling them hypocrites. you tell us not lie cheat or steal but you lie cheat and steal. Veil of virtue hung to hide your method. come on that couldnt be more clear. Two wars we fight in right now and really there is no clear objective. how is there any honor in that? and remember I am a soldier and respect all soldiers and the sacrifices we make. its the institution of the military, the politics behind it, that are a joke. |
