| I think the phrase "dig down" means to look deep inside yourself to find the clarity and peace that's lacking in our lives today. Pull yourself back up and find your destiny. imo | |

Whatever reason Paul McCartney wrote this it has deep meanings for us all. To me it's very personal because I have strayed from my faith because of things that have happened in my life and to my family. I had begun to question my Catholic upbringing because of the confusion and pain that I've endured my whole life and now in my children's lives with the recent loss of their dad, a young man of 46 who fought harder for his life than any person I'll ever know. For some reason though this song comforts me and brings me back to my faith. And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree There will be an answer, let it be For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be I do believe that at the end, in our hour of darkness we will have all the answers, but for now, just believe. Like it; don't like it', I'm not trying to create a debate forum. This is what the song says to me. My 12 year old daughter heard it for the first time today on the way to school and upon listening very intently to the words the first comment she told me was that this song reminded her of her Daddy, who passed away this past March from cancer and our beloved Uncle who passed away last week. |
