I agree. Shame implies something the writer regrets morally or ethically that brougt him to his "low," such as a drug or love addiction that effected the one he loved. |

Since Mumford songs have numerous Christian references, I cannot help but thing that "lover of the light" is also a reference to loving wholesome marital love (since light in a Christian sense would refer to "good"). |
