I think this song is mainly about the sex drive that we as humans experience.This can be seen from the first few line: "From the beginning a novel sworn in romance"(Our adult human existence is based around sex). "A display of two statues revealed"(two humans). "We cast it all hoping for a bite of desire"(We commit our lives to satisfy our sex drive). The next few lines: We hope to find someone ("masked silhouette) in order to gain a sense of meaning and relieve the stress of everyday life. When one breaks off a relationship one becomes distraught. But once we cast aside our primal urge of sex drive and the emotions related to it, we find out who we truly are. |
