Chad Vangaalen – Rabid Bits of Time Lyrics 13 years ago
"Norman" led me here. :) I think this song is pretty straightforward right? Just the questions about whether afterlife really exists or not.

Jimmy Eat World – Closer Lyrics 13 years ago
I think of a soldier coming back home to his sweetie after a long war every time I listen to this song. That being said, I guess he fought a long and hard battle of his own and he's all recovered now and coming back to her, but their once good relationship has faded and now there's "nothing pretty left to say" because those days are in the past.

Jimmy Eat World – Over Lyrics 13 years ago
Sounds connected to Disintegration to me. Also, why didn't JEW expand on this sound? If they intended this EP to be a sort of addendum to Futures, well, that's not enough to satisfy my tastes. I hope album #8 sounds like the aforementioned EP.

Jimmy Eat World – Disintegration Lyrics 13 years ago
When I listen to the song, I either get the sense he's singing about a relationship gone bad or an on-again, off-again kind of thing. They're so wrong for each other, they're almost right. They love each other, no doubt, they just can't click. I'm no believer in love, but two people definitely love each other if they can't butt heads together and work it out. But that's just my opinion.

I think they're childhood friends who grow apart from each other.

This song is absolutely brilliant.

Jimmy Eat World – World Is Static Lyrics 13 years ago
Static Prevails is the most underrated JEW album. It's like people pretend it doesn't even exist. I love it, though.

Jimmy Eat World – Cautioners Lyrics 13 years ago
This is one of the few JEW songs I can sort of relate to, and I say sort of because I'm not in the singer's shoes here, but the girl's. I used to know this awesome guy whose friendship, at that point in my life, meant a whole lot and was the only good thing that could've happened to me. On some level, I knew he saw me as more than just a friend, and it was confirmed a few months later by a few people, but I didn't know if I felt the same way about him and though I didn't mean to, I led him on by messing around with him and just flirting and making seemingly suggestive moves. At some point, he realized we'd never get together and moved on, but after that, I fell for him real hard..which didn't work out.

I wish there were more Jim Adkinses in the world to make music like this.

Jimmy Eat World – No Sensitivity Lyrics 13 years ago
I can't decide if I like this sound better or the one from Futures and Chase. Whatever, it's still good. It's so...real. Their later songs are more emotional somehow, but this? He's just singing the truth as it is, no hidden messages and all. I love the rawness of it.

This song plays in my head every time I log on to Facebook and stalk my crush. Every...single...time.

So he really likes some girl who doesn't exactly feel the same, but he doesn't exactly know. Classic JEW material...love it.

Jimmy Eat World – 23 Lyrics 13 years ago
Honestly, there is no definite way to interpret the meaning of this song other than the fact that it's a love story of some sort, but dear God, best rock ballad EVER! "No one else will have me like you do/No one else will have me, only you...." :'( Also, after listening to this song, "12.23.95," and "Christmas Card," 23's kind of become my favorite number, especially since 1998 was the year Jim turned 23 and that was the year I was born. :)

Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics 13 years ago
I feel as if this song is somehow connected to that new song "Anais" but I think that's only because Anais is a French name and the Gare du Nord is that huge train station in France. Anyway, this song kills. This is definitely JEW at their best...at least, before they started going down.
