This song is about having an affair. It’s about two people with history that can’t and shouldn’t be together, but they can’t help but give in to adultery because they can’t resist each other. “Two sides twist and then collide…Adulterous conditioned to a spin cycled submission, You know, sometimes it just feels better to give in.” It seems that these two people had been together in the past and now the girl is in a relationship with someone else. “Dull heat rises from the sheets. I’m both a patient boy, Well, and a jealous man.” The reference to sheets is post coital and he is expressing that he is willing to wait for her to leave her boyfriend, but he’s also jealous of her being with him, too. I know from experience that love triangles are angst ridden, but sometimes, “It’s you I can’t deny.” |
