I absolutely love this song, it hits home for me. It's clearly about a breakup. And whether it happened just the other day or a few years ago, you cannot get him out of your mind. You want to get rid of all of his things, but you can't bring yourself to do it. You've had previous breakups that were easy to get over, but this guy really sticks. You've tried everything to get over him, but at the same time.. you don't want to be over him. Nothing you do will "shake him," and it's really difficult to accept it and move on. |

I think this is about coming back stronger than ever. It's accepting your past and realizing that is doesn't need to be part of your future. It's about accepting the fact that you were in pain, accepting that someone hurt you, and becoming stronger from it all. It's about reminding yourself that you're stronger than you may sometimes believe. |

I think this song is about holding on to something that you know you should let go of. Whether they left you or you left them, it's hard to let go of something you've always wanted. It's when every part of you wants to rip up his letters and burn his clothes... but then you find yourself sitting on your bedroom floor in his jacket re-reading it.
"Strong enough to leave you, but weak enough to need you." You'd go back to him in a heartbeat even when you know you shouldn't.
