Hello Thank you for reading my comment about what I believe this song to mean. I agree that there are definite connections between LOTF ( Lord Of The Flies) and this song. The lyrics match up perfectly. It is undeniable. However this song holds a deeper meaning for me. I think it is about Standing up for yourself when someone is trying to control your life or the way you act. Like parents, government officials, school systems, ect. ect. ect. On another note this song is also about realizing there are people in the world who will try to manipulate you and other people for their own personal gain, being aware of it, and actually Doing something about it personally. Which is what the LOTF book is about. There are a lot of people who will use their talents at lying manipulating or their aptitude for cheating to gain an advantage and I think that is wrong. So for me the author of the song is trying to send a message for you to go against them and learn their ways so that you can screw them over in the end, win, and do what is right. So, having a thousand lies, at your disposal, to spew off in their direction, and a good disguise, "you see them running for their lives" because they know you are going to fuck them over in the end and call them on their bull shit. Its about staying true to yourself so when " you walk away theres nothing more to say" to those bastards who are trying to con you with fear. lies ect. ect. ect. any kind of deceitful tactic. Well I could go on and on but I think this is enlightening enough and you get the gist. |
