This song was the final song released by Short Stack before they broke up, and I think that this song is about their break up. There are line like "I started a war", "I could start a riot", "Be careful with those words" and "patience running thin". I believe that this refers to the tension and fighting that they may or may not have had in the lead up to their split. "But I got no soul" refers to the fact that they don't want to do this anymore, that they have lost their passion for it, and it has just become another meaningless task. "We're keeping the faith alive" means that Short Stack is alive in every one of their fans, and may also relate to Diviney going solo. |

I think that this song is saying that these days, women expect so much out of romance, that it destroys the relationships they have because the men can't live up to these unrealistic expectations. The chorus says that he won't try and live up to these romantic expectations in an attempt to save their relationship: "I'm killing romance in the name of love". I know it sounds crazy but this is my interpretation of it. |
