im wondering if "If I'm dipshit drunk on pink perfume - Then I am the man in the fucking moon" means something along the lines of "if you find me dolled up and strutting around then make no mistake about my identity as a man, even then." im not sure i understand the dipship drunk on pink perfume line or maybe its a call to just completely disregard gender roles and that we are all mankind... which is an idea i like but the rest of the song seems to be about one particular individual. |

| Reggie Watts – Fuck Shit Stack Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| if this song is a commentary on the deteriorating quality of hiphop and "FUCK" is a reference to blatant sex appeal for no other reason than for the sake of sex appeal while "SHIT" is supposed to be the terrible fucking music that accompanies it then what is the glass bowl? this is a part of the song i have the most trouble understanding. is the glass bowl a drug reference to a glass water pipe or is it a glass bowl because bowls are used for consumption and its glass to enunciate it's transparency? i mean hell the song starts out with reggie saying "how come hiphop artists seem to be proud of the fact that they cant even fucking read?" i think the whole song is just a call to pay attention to what we listeners are consuming because really its just a stack of fucking shit and we eat that shit up. | |

i think this song is about enduring life through an awful position/perspective. only for the sake that you have a life to live(which may very well be the only one you'll get). no matter how terrible your thoughts or hardships. all the while wishing it'll end, but not willing to take your death lying down. (maybe the motivation to live comes from/ is because of some sort of subtle masochism?) "I wouldn't mind if you took me in my sleep tonight I wouldn't even put up a fight I wouldn't care if you took it all away today" seems complacent and ready to die, like he's really ready to throw it all away but doesnt necessarily want to go that far with it himself, though he wouldnt mind. "I'm sure I wouldn't even miss the pain" implying most of his time spent is in terrible depression. "But I know I've got to live my life And roll around on the ground and feel the strife And realize along the way that I'm nothing more Than a grain of salt in the salt of the eart And everything is grace" Maybe the reason he insists it must be "taken away". that he feels obligated to live through each day though it amounts to nothing more than incredible despair. refuses to give up until his time comes for sake of humility "realize along the way..." and this one shot at life is meant to be taken from us, rather than taken ourselves. "everything is grace."(after having said, basically, everything is despair) the next two verses, say "self loathing; endure. someday soon it'll end." |

| The Blood Brothers – My First Kiss at the Public Execution Lyrics | 13 years ago |

the thing about this song is its a fantastic story. of a couple on a date at a carnival where they behead and hang criminals as entertainment for a modest entry fee. the scene is so horrible it brings the couple together, both in their first kiss with one another comforted in each others arms. feel compassion enough for one another from the horrific scene to actually beg and insist on more death sentences. while they are repulsed by whats going on in front of them, despite the audiences demand for more, they've found beauty in the world. in light of the most terrible of scenes. |
