obviously shes with a guy, so when she set your sights on him maybe its about him being in love with a guy cuz hes like closeted or bi or smthn. when hes killing her under the sheets maybe its because having sex with ellie isnt satisfying cuz he wants a guy, i honestly just get that feeling. she says like all the boys before meaning something similar has happened, maybe lots of guys left her for others(gender being not a priority). this meaning that shes used to being left by guys but that she really loved this one and he managed to break her although shes hard(like a rock) which is why she says in our house made of paper cuz paper beats rock. idk exactly but i think this song is generally about how shes sick and tired of people leaving her, and prob more than in the romantic sense. |

this song is bascially about how she fell in love with this dude whos a real asshole to here. The fact that she calls him hermit the frog is that shes miss piggy, shes fabulous but some people seem to think of miss piggy as a bit of a bitch, so the guy thought so. The glass balloon is obviously her heart and the fact that she let go of it means that shes forgetting how she feels and shes just going after him because hes probably hot. i love marina and all her songs, but this one seems different. |

i think this song is literally about a boy who builds coffins. bec what i always do when analysing a piece of poetry or music is i always first ask the question: is this telling me something straight up or is it hidden in between the lines. this man is just a humble coffin maker and he just sits there and does it all day. he doesnt make anything else bec he has a passion for what he does. he gets ppl from all sorts of classes and lives that talk to him about their loved ones' deaths and how they were when they were alive. hes like alison from pretty little liars. its like the boy is this person who builds a coffin and does nothing els, but in the process ppl tell him their secrets, bec theyre vulnerable since they lost a loved one. so i think of him as this spider weaving his web and listening to the different ppl of the world. he doesnt do it for play or work, so he does it for the sake of doing it. meaning he does it and waits for things to come along. it shows a metaphor of how he just gives every1 their funeral coffin and moves on, although very clear i dont like to think of the guy as death... maybe death embodied in a human, as in he is someone neutral andknows that death is coming and that its not a bad thing so hes made coffins for all bec he thinks of death as a long term bon voyage |

i think this song talks about armageddon. because when i talk about dogs i think of these carefree animals that just live for the hell of it and al they care about is food and sleep, but then everything changes when the horses come (the horses of the apocalypse) and they ruin it all. So obviously this thing she killed with kisses is in danger bec of the horses, and when she says leave all your love and your longing behind u cant carry it with you if you want to survive, she means that the thing she longs for and killed with kisses, the thing that she values so much is going to be taken from her and she cant do anything unless she wants to survive. in the end she disregards everything and takes the thing and keeps it but then she doesnt survive bec the horses are coming. when she says "Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back Struck from a great height By someone who should know better than that", it means that shes been taken and that the happiness of the thing is like a bullet. most ppl say that that means something hit you like it came to you out of nowhere but i think she says the word bullet because, happiness literally hit her (physically) bec she was so happy with this thing but she was in for a rude awakening when she found out that in order to survive she should have left everything behind and knew that she cant carry it with her. on the whole i think this is talking about loving something thats hurting you and how through experience she has come to learn that although you must always follow your heart you also have to ake a step back and think is its the logical thing to do. i personally love this song bec it tells something that i always apply n my life, being that the world is a cruel place and nowadays , its your mind that will save you and that sometimes you just have to keep your hert out of it |
