| Olivia The Band – 808 Lyrics | 13 years ago |

An average day in Hawaii (where the band is from). 808 is the Hawaii area code. In Hawaii you are up and out by the time the sunrises. The favorite activities are surfing (before school and the tourists arrive) or just hanging around with friends. The correct lyrics are "Cane fields burning higher" not "pain feels". I grew up in Hawaii (three blocks away from the band; I knew them). It's definitely cane fields. I think they stopped burning the cane fields, but right near our houses there used to be some and we could watch it from our windows all the time. This song is about memories, and the cane fields, helicopters and smoke are definitely memories. The chorus might have to do with the drive to the North Shore (the closest beach). Like I said, I know where the band lived. Also, memories. There are so many great places to swim around the North Shore, little coves that you can only get to by surf board (to far to swim and to small for boat) that are beautiful. Only the locals know where. And ditching work is just great, too! |
