After Googling the song list before I heard the Album, I Figured Roll on John was possibly about John Roll. A United States Federal Judge who was gunned down at a Democratic Event in 2011. On first listen though, the song is obviously about John Lennon. "Pay In Blood" coincidently seems to be from the point of view of a crazed political Assassin not unlike Jared Lee Loughner, killer of John Roll. The song is full of the kind of vengeful and threatening bile that comes out of the rightwing media whenever a Democrat gets into office and more specifically it references the current president. |
