i think it's basically about drugs (cigarettes and probably ecstacy) and sex, but also maybe about going against what your parents want? The chorus is "It feels just like we're taking control of the night." Just my opinion :)

I love this song! It sounds like the lead singer and this girl are in an unhealthy relationship. She's probably a lot younger than him and inexperienced ("Never made love and you won't pass by, Feels so funny when i get inside") and finally she snaps and kills him ("tonight i'll run, you hide his gun" and "Is it worth it love now feel it, feel it"). I feel like bands such as Metro Station and 3oh!3 use their catcy, dancing beats to hide darker lyrics a lot of the time.

it's about a kid growing up in the suburbs who has big ambitions as a singer, and nobody thinks he can make it until he actually does. In leaving town and getting up on stage and singing in front of all these people, he's claiming he's either "reckless or brave"

I think this song is about a girl he used to date and hadn't seen in a while. She's turned into some stripper who probably drinks too much and thinks she's cool (hence the term 'punkbitch') he tries to impress her and keep his mind off of wanting to go back to her ("'cause we datin' mad models, and poppin mad bottles tonight") but he ends up going home with her instead. When he wakes up he realizes she's still got his picture and a locket he gave her ("You put my picture in a box it was the one inside your locket"). It's then he realizes that he's actually over her ("if i regret all i've done I would be trapped inside that locket.") and leaves (the last stanza: "I would be trapped inside that locket (that we datin' mad models and poppin' mad bottles tonight")

I'm good friends with this guy, and he would always ask me what I was going to do when I got out of high school. I told him that i'd become a stripper, and we laughed about it. A few weeks later we were driving and we heard this song and he goes "This is about you!" and now it's our song :) lol

Last year my boyfriend broke up with me and started dating one of my close friends. He told me this over a text. I was a crying mess and my friend ending up driving me home while I complained about all the horrible things he did to me. Eventually, I ran out of things to say and we turned up the radio. That was the first time I heard this song, and by the second chorus I was singing along. I'm not a big pop fan, but this song really means a lot to me, and reminded me that there are parts of me that no man will ever have :)

I agree that the song is about a person who's probably dying, but in my opinion it sounds like she's got anorexia or bulimia (Just from the title, Skinny Love). it also sounds like the singer is in love with this girl, but because of her eating disorder she doesn't want to hurt him, and tries continously to push him away.

To me this always sounded like the singer had a girlfriend who was being bullied who was maybe suicidal ("I hear your voice and what we talk about") and he was trying to tell her that he would always be there for her. It's a really cute, romantic song!
