You WATCH mtv??? You are selling out to the indie scene in doing so!! Oooh double sellout!!! |

Hmm...giving up on a good band who you have allegedly been a fan of for a long time, simply because they are getting more popular? It seems you are the sellout. As much as you *think* they are betraying you for trying to reach a wider audience, you are betraying them for not supporting their attempts to get more people to love their art. Amazing, simply amazing. |

"And it's true that the clouds just hung around Like black Cadillacs outside a funeral.." Great imagery. |

It's a catchy song. I think Isaac definitely made it that on purpose to get radio play. I think it is ridiculous that "diehard fans" who have "been there since the beginning" are flipping out over their band becoming more mainstream. Maybe if good music went more mainstream, radio and mtv wouldn't suck so bad. In the 60's and early 70's, the "mainstream" actually had good music. Music and art is meant to be heard by the masses. Not stowed away for some pseudo intellectual elitist hipster wannabees to be the only ones to hear. Of course, what else can you expect from a generation equated with avarice. |

| Dashboard Confessional – The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
This song can have so many different interpetations. When I first heard it depression automatically crept into my mind. How you can make yourself look so happy on the inside and you are dying inside. The second thing I thought of was someone discovering their homosexuality. "And the grave that you refuse to leave the refuge that you've built to flee. The places that you've come to fear the most, is the place that you have come to fear the most." Home makes you feel safe and secure, but when it comes out that you are gay, the places that are closest to you are the ones that you are most afraid of for fear of rejection. |

| That is sweet that you saw them. How did it go? | |
| The White Stripes – Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| My take on it is that it is about a couple who knows their relationship is over and all the trouble and other people in the video represent all the turmoil going on at home but neither of them want to admit the relationship is over because they both care deeply for one another. That is why all the turmoil and Meg is clear because it's like this tension he knows is there but won't admit to. | |
| The White Stripes – We're Going to Be Friends Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Like someone else mentioned I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. It is so simple and takes you back to a time that was just carefree and fun. It reminds me of my bestfriend growing up. | |
| Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I love this song. It's about what others here have said...the rich people didn't have to go to war while the poor or average people did. They have a Wrangler jeans commercial out with Fortunate Son playing during it. The funny part is the commercial has a patriotic theme. It made me laugh so hard. People really need to listen to lyrics and understand them. |
