Jukebox the Ghost – Adulthood Lyrics 13 years ago
I see this song as a response to the previous track on the album Dead.

Dead seems to be about what happens after death and from the point of view of a doubter of religion and someone scared of death.

This seems to be about the religious masses, the fact that they are scared of death and go to chuch/other religious buildings every week to try and perpetuate the idea to themselves that there is a life after death:

"Ten billion feet
Pounding at the ground each week"

But their foot pounding is all done in vain:

"Each one’s waiting on the chance
To be lifted off the ground but then
To discover that we’ll all be dust again"

I think this part best sums up my interpretation of the song:

"But somehow we never get heard
There’s just an echo
From a lost and lonely world"

I gotta say I really don't know what to take away from this song.

I've read interviews saying they were influenced by the Book of Revelations when writing this album, not as followers but just by the ideas presented in the book.

As an atheist I don't really understand the sentiment of the line:

"We all at minimum Deserve a unique exit from this world"

It sounds extremely vain to me, what do they mean by "unique"?

It's one of my favourite songs on the album, probably for its ambiguity but I was just wondering what other's thought.

The Philistines Jr. – Tarquin's Half-Assed Mission Statement Lyrics 13 years ago
Okay "Edit Lyrics" isn't working for me but I've found some mistakes I made.

What he says on the last line of the second verse is "Tarquin knows he makes them every day."

And "Kiss the day" should be "Kids today"

Probably my favourite song on the album (along with Twenty Miles to N.H.), the lyrics just make me smile.

I love Philistine Jr's simple and succinct, even naive, lyrics.
