"This is a song about making a contract with your solitude, that you want to hold it to later on, and expect you to be able to wag your finger and say "you said!"" - John at An evening of awesome. What I can gather from these comments is at least that its about loneliness, and how you handle it. Maybe it's about satanic worship, I'm not sure. |

| I would also like to add; since the first lines seem as if hes looking at the peacocks. Maybe he is, he just isn't noticing them. Like when you think and just stare straight forward until you realize you're looking at something/someone. | |

Just throwing my thoughts about the peacocks out there, I don't know much about the Alphas yet. For me the line "how come there's peacocks in the front yard?" sounds like a late observation. Like he was so focused about his train of thought that he didn't even notice the peacocks standing in front of him, even if they are a quite obvious animal to spot. In this case it seems like hes wondering why he didn't notice something obvious, something that was right before his eyes all along. He was over thinking and not seeing the obvious answer. Or maybe he was, again, focused and suddenly realized something about the world around him. Here the peacocks may represent shallow people who only cares about someones outside. In this case the line sounds like a side note in his train of thought. Maybe he thinks about this since he doesn't have anyone to hug. |

| Actually I think the part about them stealing shiny objects is just a myth. Read it on wiki earlier, I think. | |
