| Hole – Northern Star Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The song was probably written in a very cold livingroom at the end of a very very long jam session. The last jam. Probably the very end and something reflective about living in Northwest Washington in the dead of winter. I like to imagine them sitting there next to a window and the snow is coming down in the night, and they feel isolated and forgotten. Wornout. Used up. Exhausted. Being in a freezing room - to feel this song you need to go for a jog at night when it is freezing cold out, and you are sweating like a pig after about 20 minutes. The song is about blaming the previous generation. It is about losing a never ending conflict. It is darkly romantic, and it is very foreshadowing. Minstrels of a forgotten tribe, forgotten era, lost in the middle of nowhere. The bleak future awaits them. I can see Kurt with the 500 yard stare - deep in the feeling of this tune and glimpse for a moment of his place in the great big universe. It is about having too much empathy - too often - and being caught up in your own ideals and ideas about old stories. | |

LOL someone really screwed up the lyrics here big time. Okays lets try these: The waves are warm The sun is out The sea full of agents They crave the space between the grains of sand and road to me too. There is someone here who laughs to hard at everything There is someone here who laughs to hard at everything You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out The rats alone The mating crowds are out here for the weekend We have to take our clothes before the sun was gone completely I used to lie to thinking crowds to sour queens and which were doves and lines before myself are thinner shower curtain thin There is someone here who laughs to hard at everything.... There is someone here who laughs to hard at everything.... You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out You say isn't it hard? Paddling out. Paddling out |
