I always thought this song was about finally surrendering and commiting to a relationship. He's wondering why he hasn't seen it before (I feel like a fool). He's willing to take the pain, he's willing to go through it all (draw your swords/shoot me to the groud), he finally realizes he doesn't really have a choice, he's in love, and he doesn't want to be with other people (You are mine, I am yours, let's not fuck around). They were probably just pretending to be fooling around with each other before, and just ended up hurting. It is a painful realization that they're made for each other, and nobody else exists for them any more. I really love the harshness of "Let's not fuck around" and the ending chorus, just so powerful! |
