Dude, what a beautiful song. It's almost light jazz, very soulful yet simultaneously calm. I don't even care what it's about, just based on how awesome the music itself is. I am pretty positive it's about being a relationship where you feel hopeless and powerless, and she's just, indifferent towards patching it up, but still very passionately in love with that person. |

I think it's less about a relationship, and more about gossip and how politically incorrect things can be in casual conversation, yet we'll just ignore it and turn our head, as if it's not a big deal. The specific example that plays out in my head when I hear this song is that of Chan talking to somebody about this Asian girl, the topic of their gossip. I think that they try to seem casual once the Asian girl gets physically closer to them, as if they weren't just talking about her. Just my interpretation. Not nearly as deep as all of yours, but whatever. Sometimes things just aren't as deep as we'd like them to be, perhaps. |
