I assume (due to the music video) that a boy is in love with a girl, but her father will not let her see him. They make a plan to runaway together. When the girls father discovers that she is missing, he goes to find her. When he does find her, he beats up the boy and leaves him laying in the street, all bloody and beaten. He takes his daughter and the girl is screaming telling the boy to get up and go. I love this song and it is so catchy. I can rap Big Sean's whole part! It is my favorite song off the Believe album (next to Beauty and a Beat ft. Nicki Minaj). |

It is about a girl who dies. Her boyfriend becomes so sad, lonely and depressed. He thinks that the only way to heal his pain is to kill himself to be with her. During Niall Horan's part, he says: Shut the door Throw the key He means that he locks himself in a room. He goes to the window and prepares himself to jump. In Zayn Malik's part, he talks about as he is falling he sees wonderful memories or moments. He even states: Feel myself fall Make a joke of it all This is what the song means. Its very sad and no one should ever have to go through this. Its a beautifully written song by Ed Sheeran. | I agree. Its very sad. If you just listen to the lyrics, you understand whats happening. I think the boys sung this song beautifully. I love it. One Direction cried while recording this song in the studio. Louis Tomlinson sounds like he is gonna cry in the final product. I love this song. Its so sad! | |
