First I thought it was about falling in with a bad crowd. They're holding her back, they're censoring her, she can't speak her mind etc..maybe it's a protest song hating on the music industry. Then I thought it was a metaphor for mental disorder. Then I thought, I'm just a chicken boo. |

Terrible at song interpretation but I'll give it a go: Dude hates holiday shopping and has a case of the winter blues, maybe a shit job or one that requires him to be abroad and away from his loved ones. He feels alienated in his discontent, and bereft of optimism. That last line, which goes back to the season he hates, has a double-meaning. It suggests he wants to be re-gifted with idealistic hope and a sense of belonging, but really it means "Everything will probably still suck. Statically Yours, Mr. Jaded Cynic". Or it could just be about how awful consumerism is during the Christmas season... Directed by M. Night Shyamayalan. |

| Thanks for the lyrics. This is the first song of his that I heard. It was perfect at the time and it is still one of my favourites. I've added 'From the Station" from this album, currently in the queue. | |
