I think it's kind of a sarcastic song. The older generation says he is "living in a dream" as in he doesn't know what he's doing. His response is "wake me up when I'm older", as if he is supposed to just be older and more experienced and not even bother with being young. So basically I think he's saying that he's young and inexperienced but that's just part of life and it's part of maturing. |

my interpretation is this song can be for anyone who was in a situation where they didnt face the truth, and it nags them to reveal the truth, and they do, and as they do uncover it all, they just keep falling. it could be addiction, could be a scorned lover, it could be religion, who knows just my thoughts |
