| Joe Brown – I'll See You in My Dreams Lyrics | 7 years ago |
|

| The meaning is quite straightforward. I'd even say that he (the narrator) is a total jerk by the way he expresses some things. | |
| Enter Shikari – Dear Future Historians Lyrics | 9 years ago |
|
Well, so, in my opinion this song is about conformism with the world we have with a subtle touch of despair and melancholy. "Today's world is consequence of yesterday's acts." So I think Enter Shinkari is being cynical here when they say "Put your weight on my shoulders". In other songs like, for instance, "Gap in the fence", they encourage people to do things and to change the world we live in and this one looks to me like totally the opposite. Hence the irony. Anyway, as I was writing this, it came to my mind the idea that he could actually be saying the contrary. Maybe he's telling the future historians: "Hey, be grateful because you live in a cool nice world thanks to our efforts, you're welcome" Just some thoughts :) |
