The first time I heard the last trilogy of songs on Abbey Road I cried....I wanted to go home to my friends, but that was past and I could not go back. To this day I cry when I hear this song. Along with Blackbird, In My Life this trilogy of tunes these mean the most personally to me |

we owe our men and women in service either now or in the past a debt of honor never forgotten....never forget how they stood for you on the battlefield, in the surgery tent, or covering the convoys, dishing out grub for all those uniforms. I don't care whether our service people are in the military or all the police, the fire personnel, the emt's....all people who stand up for us citizens......you are not forgotten....not by this woman citizen. |

i am using this song as a tune on a demo disc for a program just for folks like you and I on a volunteer radio station in Porltand, OR. Your comment was/is my comment. And I cry at it too. Same when I hear "Golden Slumbers" by the Beatles, or In the Livinf Years" by Mike and th e Mechanics ...try listening to that song without crying....I dare you....keep on loving, laughing and crying...Blackbird |

When the White Double Beatle album came out my group of friends with one charismatic guru type who "suggested" we all take names from the song titles on the album to use as our spiritual names when we ran away to Stinson Beach Ca, to start a commune. Our guru named me first as Blackbird and for me the lyrics encourages me to use what I have to see more, do more, pay it forward and say the words that need to be said and play the music that celebrate our lives all the way thru...all my life I have been waiting to do this...this is my year. |

Do your friends or family equate a song to you, your personality and life philosophy? Mine equate me with this song and the special period in my life from 1967 to 1970. And yes, I would have done all those comforting things the girl does in the song...and come to think of it I still do. |
