Bad Religion – Evangeline Lyrics 13 years ago
If i'm not mistaken, the phrase 'it could be curtains' means something is ending as in when a show at the theatre ends when the curtains are let down. At least that is how I've always thought of it. Great take on the song though!

NOFX – You Will Lose Faith (7" Version) Lyrics 13 years ago
This is the version from 7" of the month. The version you're thinking of is from wolves in wolves clothing. Both versions are great. This version is acoustic and the vocals get a little crude. I personally like the lyrics in this one better. Mostly the same though.

Bad Religion – Operation Rescue Lyrics 13 years ago
I realize that Operation Rescue is a real organization and I am sure Graffin does too but i don't believe this song is about that organization in particular. Also I definitely do not believe its about censorship. The song just seems to be about people trying to "rescue" each other (usually through religion) from nothing for no apparent reason. Also another theme in the song, (my favorite) is that there really doesn't seem to be a reason why people do this. "You wonder where they come from, but I just wonder what compels them all". When I hear this song it just reminds me of how angry I get when people come to my door to talk about religion, and tell me that I need to be saved. Why the fuck do they care?

Like Al Pist says,

Perhaps I could be wrong, suppose that it's all true
I'll find out on my own, I don't want to hear it from you
You're obsessed with pointing fingers, blind to your hypocrisies
I'd rather burn in hell than be like you down on your knees

Don't want your illumination
I can see clearly on my own
And I don't need you to judge me
Let those without sin cast the first fucking stone
AmenÂ…

Ceschi – Shame Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is no doubt about the homeless. He said once that he was inspired to write this song upon seeing homeless people roaming the streets in California.
A significant symbol in this song is the gun. The beauty of this symbol is that it is up to interpretation. The gun may represent either a way out (suicide), a way to make money or safety. The way he mentions the tomatoes has still got me stumped. In my opinion the tomatoes represent a positive alternative to the gun. Where instead of dwelling on how he once had a gun to provide sustenance, he also remembers having the ability to simply grow food from land that he owned.

Bad Religion – All There Is Lyrics 13 years ago
8===D~~~~~< ( .*`_ ) ... That's me cumming into your asshole gallium. You might need to use a little imagination, with which i'm sure you'll have trouble. So I will explain. The 8===D is my fat, hard, lesbian, black left-wing cock. Get it? There's a contradiction somewhere in there to emphasize the fact that i am mocking what people like you stereotypically hate. If you think REALLY think hard about that one you may find some more irony. Next, is the ~~~~~<. That's the fun stuff! Most people call it semen but I like to call it cock lunger. Its that tasty and sticky white stuff that comes out of your urethra when you jerk off. Finally, ( .*`_ ). This is your ass spread open like a turkey on thanksgiving. Although this time i'm not shoving my fist inside and eating it with cranberry sauce. If you will notice, the * is your cute little asshole pulsating like a larva and as tight as a balloon knot. Oh yes! and the . right before the * is that adorable little freckle you have right below your hole. Aaaah. I miss that freckle honey! Can't wait to give it a nice kiss when I get home. See you tonight baby!

Bad Religion – All There Is Lyrics 13 years ago
Kudos! I think gallium31 summed it up just perfectly and as simple as possible! The song is about the complex and disconcerting reality of being a true atheist. I will give my interpretations of some of the strong verses in the song.

These lines seem to raise the most questions,

"There's an endless disposition and it doesn't mean a god damn thing.
There's space for a paper airplane race in the eye of a hurricane."

The disposition refers to human nature and how religion comes naturally to people. But this of course doesn't mean a god damn thing. The hurricane refers to the vast chaos of reality outside of the boarders of religion, however within the chaos there is space (very small space) wide enough to build organized interpretations of the true chaos of nature (religion). Deep in this symbolism Graffin cunningly compares the complexity of religion to that of a paper airplane race.
Brilliant!! Hahaha!

"And if pigs could fly then surely so could I.
But this pedestrian knows better than to even try."

This line facetiously describes the slippery slope of being religious.

"My divinity is caught between the colors of a butterfly"

This line might be my favorite in the song. The butterfly symbolizes beauty within the chaos of nature. As an atheist, Graffin explains the disconcerting feeling that he has no divinity in the religious essence. However, he feels there is something else. He feels a personal divinity outside of the religious sense. But he cannot entirely grasp the idea as more than the beauty of a complexity within the godless chaos of reality (the colors of a butterfly). This confusion related to atheism, along with others that he addresses within the song, raises the question, "Can this be all there is?"
