Simon and Garfunkel – Cloudy Lyrics 1 year ago
Methinks it's just a whimsical happy song of a cloudy day. The kind you want to stay at home and sip a hot drink and stare outside. The views on this song are so diverse! Everyone seems to have a different take.

Christopher Cross – Minstrel Gigolo Lyrics 6 years ago
This is an odd subject to sing on for.

But this song has a wistfulness and nostalgia of the '80s which is enduring. When Cross was in his heydays his music was fantastic.

I hear this and Sailing whenever i have had a rough day. Very relaxing in the evening. In fact this entire album.

John Mayer – Belief Lyrics 10 years ago
Very profound lyrics. Have found more meaning each time i've heard it. I thing it is about dogmatism. Holding on to a point of view regardless of anything. And how it weakens you from inside. At some level, equates patriotism with dogma.

John Mayer – The Heart of Life Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is frickin' deep. Mayer excels yet again. "Bad news never had good timing/But then the circle of your friends/Will defend the silver lining." and "Fear is a friend who's misunderstood."

Al Stewart – Flying Sorcery Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is practically an eloquent dictionary of pre-jet travel terminology... Kittyhawk, Biplane, Amy J (on whom the song is), Tigermoth, Tarmac, Hangar, Tailwind, Runway Lights, Leather Jacket, Cockpit, Oil drums, Slipstream, Compass, Icarus, Faith+Hope+Charity. Real musical beauty for its unusual melancholic undertone.

Keane – Watch How You Go Lyrics 11 years ago
I think this is about the inevitability of any relationship... the time of parting. A lover, a parent or a wife in a break-up. (There seems to be not any trace of romance and that's why i think its more general.) But the lyrics are a beaut.

The Alan Parsons Project – The Same Old Sun Lyrics 11 years ago
Seems to have lost a loved one... a spouse/lover or maybe a child to death. Consoling himself?

The Moody Blues – Dawning Is The Day Lyrics 11 years ago
Urges us to escape from the trappings of modern life, i think. Brilliant song, without doubt.

The Moody Blues – Don't You Feel Small Lyrics 11 years ago
I think its about the arrogance of mankind and our ecological destruction... perhaps predating the new age thinking on the environment conservation by decades?

Carpe Diem. Seize the day! Don't just dream.

The Alan Parsons Project – Old And Wise Lyrics 11 years ago
It seems to me, to be about an old man at the end of his life's journey. The key undertone is of fondness/friendship and forgiveness. Beautiful, reminiscent, ironic.

i think we should think like this even when we are younger and will probably have better quality relationships. I have been listening to it for over 20 years intermittently and never fails to move me.
