Very thorough and thoughtful interpretation. However, you look the song from point of view that is kinda typical for metal culture - society and authorities are something that must be rebelled against. Like the song tells, there is always the other side in things, and therefore this rebellious interpretation is only half of the truth also. I had some similar thoughts of the song, but a bit less confrontative. "We are lightning We are flame And we burn at the touch of a spark If there's fire, but no one sees The there's only the dark" I thought that a life of human is like a blink of an eye - swift like lightning. I also thought that this is about being alone anf being together with people. No one can live entirely alone, without anyone seeing oneself and taking some contact - it is not life at all, it is darkness. But again, that is just how I felt, from my point of view. |
