I was listening to this song and suddenly the meaning of the song hit me, so I wrote it in my notes on my phone. It's a simple love song seemingly......... First Verse ("I don't like walking around this house....."): Talks about how the bad memories haunt her and keep her up at night. She hears there voices and hears them walking as if they were ghosts. He tells her that memories are just memories, and that the horror is all in her head. In the second verse, she is afraid to be happy again. (sorta reminds me of myself). The boy refers to how innocent and happy they were in their childhood, this is one of the big lines that stuck out to me the most for some reason. She assures that she is in a moment that will pass. The last verse, when he's away from her the voices and the pain all come rushing back. This is when they both realize that they are in love, and that they can't leave each other. Throughout the song, both the bridge and chorus have the same meanings. The bridge, in short, is talking about how that was then, this is now. We will be okay. The chorus, she's telling him not to listen to her when she doubts herself, because she knows that she isn't all what she says she is when she doubts her self. Overall, I can relate to the girl a lot, because throughout the song she seems to be talking about thoughts of someone with depression like myself. I really love this song and what it means, thank you Of Monsters and Men for making such a powerful song! |

CANT BELIEVE NO ONE HAS EVEN LEFT A COMMENT. Honestly I love this song, not only because obvvviooouuusssly it's an awesome.... But also its message is probably relatable for many people like me. To me the song is about a reflection of where he comes from, his family and family members he grew up. Thinking about then, he looks at the NOW and if he became someone he wanted to be like. In other words, it's about how all that he wanted to be and who wanted to be like is the person he is today. I don't think he wants to change, unless he isn't what he wanted to be. People please listen to this song cause it's like basically my life story and u never know if you may say the same! Have a good day and night and life!!!! |
