Florence + the Machine – All This and Heaven Too Lyrics 12 years ago
When I read it, I thought the music talks about making lyrics! How difficult it is to describe your feelings, your thoughts and such in words, poetry, musics. How the lyrics, even when so detailed and well written, would never me able to really express the unique feeling of the one who wrote it.
This lyrics are just superb.

Florence + the Machine – Strangeness and Charm Lyrics 13 years ago
"Strange" and "Charm" are names of quarks, and the music talks a lot about chemicals.

Florence is genius.

Florence + the Machine – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Lyrics 13 years ago
I have a really strange interpretation. I've always thought that music as sung by someone who was raped.
The music obviously talks about sacrifice and the ambivalent state of someone, being the lamb or the knife. A rape can be very disturbing at this point: the person can blame him/herself about what happened, so, s/he can be the knife and the lamb at the same time.
She says she's slipping out of time, and Midas hold her (I think that Midas is the rapist). After Midas, she is shining; it's like she turned out a woman, even though it's out of time. Midas is a king because the rapist was strong and powerful towards the girl.
The wrong pill might be a reference to contraceptive pills.
The rape can bring the person to a state of wanting death, to be the sacrifice.
She was a rabbit heart girl (a child); she is struggling in order to become a lion heart (adult) so she can overcome her trauma.
