This song, honestly, reminds me a lot of Shakespeare's sonnet 130- "My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun....", not in how it's written, of course, but specifically in the meaning. Both say pretty much the same thing- that the woman I love isn't a goddess, she's not perfect in anyone else's eyes but she is to me, because she's mine. |

hahaha there's also a song on the white album called 'why don't we do it in the road', so in short, no. The song is actually about kids on a playground. (slides and the like). The recording of it was such a crazy jam session, and that's where ringo's shout of 'I've got blisters on my fingers' comes from.

This song is about a guy who starts really straight, not orientation but 'so square he has corners' kind of thing. (He come up flat-top = buzz cut- really clean, neat). He begins to be more 'hip', and ends up doing lots and lots of drugs. Contextually, it fits into the societal frame of Vietnam, and how a lot of soldiers came back on heroin. |

It wasn't a historical reference. That is a reference to current events. When you look at songs with references like that, just be really careful to look at the date. I know that you know that this is an old(ish) song, but just make sure that you see the difference when interpreting songs.
This was a cold war reference, referring to communism in general, not just china. |

This song is about narcotics. Buzz = the narcotics themselves. He takes all my money- drugs take all his money, not very funny- not good for his life but he still does it, it ended his relationship, but he still can't stop, even though he want to. |

It's not a bad thing to have songs that make commentary on very dark political events. This song is about the SS (chain lightning- looks like the symbol), both before and after the war. It is very dark, but the song is a pretty honest POV. |
