The Gaslight Anthem – Rollin' and Tumblin' Lyrics 11 years ago
I love the line: "I hope you got all my letters, signed The Great Depression." GA always has a way of bringing a line at the beginning back to completion at the end. The Great Depression line also reminds of the song of the same name by Dave Hause (who was the lead singer of The Loves Ones that GA toured with).

The Gaslight Anthem – Break Your Heart Lyrics 11 years ago
The beginning melody of this song reminds me of Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down." Even the phrasing at times is very Tom Petty-ish.

Skillet – Circus For A Psycho Lyrics 12 years ago
Instead of "Circus," wouldn't a "Carousel" make more sense?? I don't understand how you can his circus for a psycho. Worst song on the album.

The Killers – The Way It Was Lyrics 12 years ago
The line "Maybe a thief stole your heart" reminds me of Gaslight Anthem's "Here's Looking At You, Kid" where Brian sings "That a thief stole my heart." There seems to be some other lines in the album similar to Gaslight Anthem and it is a nostalgic album like GA albums tend to be. Might be the Bruce Sprinsteen influence, though, that causes the overlap.

The Gaslight Anthem – Blue Dahlia Lyrics 13 years ago
The "Your black hair was like a raven" brings us back to Great Expectations where "her hair was raven and her heart was like a tomb."

The Gaslight Anthem – Desire Lyrics 13 years ago
The "You were always on my mind" always reminds me of Elvis!

The Gaslight Anthem – Here Comes My Man Lyrics 13 years ago
This song reminds me of Tom Petty's "Here Comes My Girl," though obviously Brian used both the male and female perspective.
