| Mötley Crüe – Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) Lyrics

I think when I heard this song is when I really started to pay attention to Crue, I was before but this song made my eyes open wide. It was a great song without reading the lyrics but even much better after reading each word. (Some of the words I heard different from what is documented.)
The best lines:
Held our dreams in our hands
Let our minds run away
I don't know how many times I felt that way in my life. |

@[stoolhardy:54338] I also do think it's about a transvestite at all - not in the least. I think it's about a crazy insane relationship. I really don't think it's about a nymphomaniac either, at least not the main point. I think it's about just one of those absolutely crazy relationships. If you've ever been in one you'll relate to this song perfectly. |

| Mad Season – River of Deceit Lyrics

According to wikipedia:
Much of "River of Deceit", lyrically, was inspired by the 1923 book The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, which Staley read during the making of the album.
Also stated is the fact that:
The music for "River of Deceit" came out of rehearsals that the group had before vocalist Layne Staley joined the band.
That says "music" not "lyrics" but it's not clear who actually wrote these lyrics.
I cannot believe that I finally heard this song for the first time on March 31, 2026, 13 years after it came out. And I thought I was a major Alice In Chains fan. One thing is for sure though, that hearing this song makes me miss Layne even more. |

@[DarkAxel:51902] Does it say "What does it mean to you?" or, What do you think the song is about from the point of the writer? I think it's interesting to hear people's takes on what they think what the author was trying to convey. I think it's far less interesting to hear about what someone thinks about when they hear the song which can be anything, repetitive and uninteresting. |

I wish they keep the first 4 lines in War Pigs. Yeah, it wouldn't have fit exactly with the other lines of War Pigs, but those 4 lines are absolutely outstanding! |

@[EvilEyes:50035] I agree, the lyrics on this song are just incredible. I cannot believe that Gillan and Iommi dis this album. It is a masterpiece. |

Where this took place or what army they were fighting, I'm not sure that could every be nailed down but....
What about the lines:
Raised my rifle to my eye
Never stopped to wonder why
Then I saw black
And my face splashed in the sky
Does this mean that he was going to shoot but he got shot before he could fire. I always had this feeling that it meant his gun malfunctioned and his "face flashed in the sky." |

This is an amazing song. Its meaning is very important given the world that we live in today where the Supreme Court of Fools wants to take your rights away, the Republicans who always spouted off about small government wants to control every thing you do and say. Closer to free is a good goal to have. |

He says so on his Acoustic Vol I album that he was 16. I'd take his word for it. I do not think it's so unbelievable that a 16 year old could write this. After all he is an amazing song writer - so the fact that he had the skill as a later teenager is not such a crazy thought. |

It is unfortunate that such great deep songs always make some people think (more) of suicide. I think the fact that they impact someone so drastically clearly indicates the songs' brilliance despite the potentially negative side effect. |

Obvious what the song is about??? But provide no explanation? I think it's obvious you have not thought about what the song means. |

I don't think he is referring to staying formal friends with this ex. I think he simply wants both of them to able to look back and see the good they both had instead of all of the hurt. |

I think that this song is so amazing and it makes The Mob Rules the number one Black Sabbath album. For some reason Heaven and Hell seems to be the favorite but this song, Turn Up The Night, Slipping Away, etc are top of the list. |
