| Paul Simon – You Can Call Me Al Lyrics | 13 years ago |

"get these mutts away from me- I don't find this stuff amusin' anymore' feels like it's mine. From the first 'Bonedigger' on, I feel it whole-heartedly. The first two verses I think can be taken pretty literally; could be the fools who whine and create their own problems and how numbingly unimportant it all is occurs like a miracle in the third verse. The third verse is beautiful and heartfelt. There's a kind of excited breathlessness to it that doesn't happen in v.1 or v.2; emphatic description of the juxtaposition of chaos and awestruck wonder. A realization. I think the man is Paul Simon himself. 'Angels in the architecture' (hope I didn't mangle the spelling too badly) other artists he meets. What an evocative description; a sense of the miraculous so beautifully conveyed. A holy verse. |

| Awesome. You rock. Exactly right. Or, it could just be a song...;) | |

| I've loved this album for years, been mystified by this song. Really surprised to find a post so similar to my theory: fingerprints are a myth that has divided us; 'all around the world', 'that's why we must learn to live alone'. | |
