An addiction can sometimes feel like your only sense of security while it's actually building you up for a downward fall. But it doesn't matter that it's tearing you apart, because while in the moment that feeling is just too much for you to stop. While friends and family may try to talk some sense into you because they're concerned, you give them your ears because of how it hurts them to see you like this, but in the end the words just fly in one ear and out the other. |

Some relationships (or friendships) seem to last forever and even though you may be separated from someone for a period of time, when they come back into your life the feeling is just the same as before they left. Just like how seasons come and go, as opposed to how chapters in a book (and some relationships) that have a definitive start and end. The person the writer is talking to wants to cut ties and close the book on the relationship. They reluctantly agree to leave as well, even though they feel that ultimately their friendship could be the one that outlasts all others. So there are questions like "Why now?" or "What's changed?" Without this closure they feel bitter how near the end the subject just floated around half-heartedly without telling them the whole story. |
