I think it's about getting caught up in a bad situation and wanting to change it, probably like a web of lies. The narrator stays up late because he doesn't want to be what he is. He drags everyone around him due to his "blind" fury and pessimism. He doesn't believe in not just anything but everything without even having to see it. Upon realizing what he's done he wants to get away from it all because the situation is getting worse or "deeper" everyday. He gets concerned for his friend to for their own good. Asking her what they're going to do when the walls come falling down, and his solution is hiding it. And even with the support they have, it's better to just finish it than trying to make it out alive |
