Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics 12 years ago
The last three lines are perhaps the most powerful of the whole song. "Who will love you?" - referring to his lost love and who will take eventually take his place? "Who will fight?" - referring to how hard he fought to keep them together and win her back, but also, in general, standing up for her and protecting her. "Who will fall far behind?" - referring to himself, now that the relationship has ended, she has moved on with her life and he is at a standstill..life goes on but he can't keep up because he is too heartbroken. It is incredibly honest and gut-wrenching - and amazing.

The Lumineers – Ho Hey Lyrics 12 years ago
He's moved out, trying to move on, and is alone, trying to put his life back together after losing someone he loves very much. He knows, however, that they belong together, and he keeps reinforcing this idea, even though she apparently has moved on to someone else. Unrequited love sucks!

Bon Iver – Holocene Lyrics 12 years ago
I think it's basically a metaphor for being alone and the bitter cold of isolation. But at the same time, it also reflects a renewed appreciation for the world and your surroundings..and the "I can see for miles, miles, miles" line further illustrates this realization. Sometimes you have to get to your lowest point, feeling the most insignificant, before you actually see you're worth something.

Bon Iver – RE: Stacks Lyrics 12 years ago
Perfect depiction of the anguish that underlies this song. I think though, that when he talks about the "unlocking and lift away" he is talking about a sort of metaphorical vault where he kept love safe. He realizes that he can no longer protect this love he cherished so deeply and in that way, it is cathartic..he can finally let it go - even if he doesn't want to.
