I've always interpreted it as political and I think it's very relevant at the mo. I find myself playing it a lot in my head. Not wanting to start a flame war - all I will say is don't yourself be suckered in by the person who seems to hold all the cards or accept what you told. Truth is important - don't let someone tell you that facts can be alt - alt-facts are lies or that truth is not-truth. Anyone who tells the BBC are anti-truth is a liar. I think it's actually about Dubya and his lik but things have actually managed to get even worse from that point recently. Read 1984 and you'll see some distrubing parallels between what the Minstry of Truth says and what's been said now. - Don't believe the hype - resist it. Oh yes - and just as it isn't just men who sleep around and lie to the partners to get away with it. It's not just women who use guilt to manipulate people in relationships. Arseholes come in all varieties even people who on the surface seem to be 'your' people to think otherwise is dangerous - preduice is never good. |

@[AccountKiller:18685] sss121111 That old one's been kicking around Christian circles since the early 90s and yet we've seen no indication of anything like that happen even in Australisia were it was all supposed to start. My dad always used to say people who believe in corporations or any other organisation ruling the world have no understanding of corporations and how little they can actually successfully even run themselves. Yes power cabals do exist and have always done so and so have theories thinking they actually run the world far more successfully than they actually do. |

| It's not about Trump specifically, too early for that, but I've been thinking of the lyrics a lot since he came into office. It's about the way the powerful try and hindwink you into toeing the line and how you don't have to stand for it. If you want to read that into standing your ground in a personal relationship I guess that works too. | |

| You know guys sometimes a clap is just a clap :-) It's a song about being happy and I love it - Brits are addicted to being miserable, yanks to being cyncial and thinking everything is about either sex or drugs - and jez to the guy who thinks the Rolling Stones are rubbish someone should force you to listen to Celine Dion and that ilk not to mention Justin Bieber - my five year old digs a radio channel called 'Fun Kids' and once you've heard a bunch of numpties rip off 'Song Two' and then suck the soul from it then you kinda learn to appreciate the likes of Pharrel. | |

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thought it was originally at the four members of the Beatles - four verses each describing a person and it is obvious that the guy in the last verse isn't the same as the ones described in the previous verses - it seems to point to four different people - I've often thought it but it was po pooed but people. My brother pointed to the Q analysis which thought that the lines "got to be a joker, he just do what he please" where about the Marharshi and Lennon's disillusion with him. The first verse fits with the Marharshi and possibly even the second but the second two certainly don't - thinking about it I think it's a song about the people Lennon was trying to disassociate from - the first verse is the Marharshi and then come the verses about George, himself and Paul - the roller-coasting could be a variant of railroading - and one and one and one is three and got to be good looking are John saying Paul is overly logical and boring - only interesting to anyone who fancies him. The only thing that jars with this is the negative picture John paints of himself - he doesn't come across as a self-efacing guy in any of the accounts of him I've read. |
