| Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do Lyrics | 2 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about Taylor’s handlers in the illuminati side of show business, trying to control her every move and it being a very unfair situation for her. The song cleverly speaks to the public about the behind-the-scenes situation she can’t talk about. An emotional outlet for her and a triumphant two-fingers-up to those why try to exploit and manipulate people for their own ends. |

I think this song is about two lovers with different lives who are missing each other, as others have said; but here’s what it means to me: We’ve been so occupied, so distracted that we’ve missed how messed up the world has become. Is it too late to notice? Too late to fix? |

| Paul Simon – I Know What I Know Lyrics | 9 years ago |
|
A man and a woman meet each other and they have their ideas - preconceptions - about each other: "Don't I know you from the cinematographer's party?" "She says that I really remind her of money" "Weren't you the woman who was recently given a Fulbright?" They each decide not to shatter their illusions about each other "Who am I to blow against the wind?" This keeps up the pretence and the allure and so they never really get to know or understand each other. The man refrains as ultimately it's a fleeting encounter - why spoil the fun? "we come and we go, that's a thought that I keep in the back of my head" The song is about preconception and deciding to stick with it even though you know it might not be true. "I know what I know, I'll sing what I said." |
