I disagree, if anything its an anti-organised religion song. Honestly... Serj himself is a very spiritual man. he may believe all modern religions to be false, but he is still religous.. We are far from holy The wholeness of one Repeat after me he is saying we are far from holy, because he have lost our spiritual connection to the world, universe, nature ect. - Tao wholeness of one = Tao, Great spirit, God, Universe - however you wish to look at it. hes saying everyone who is part of the One, repeat after me ( this song kinda connects with the meaning of Borders Are) Anywho, i find this part very interesting because. We are far from love But silence is golden Please observe We are all one, one species if you will and what hurts one will hurt the rest of us hence we are far from love (love/compassion is The Key, to a brighter future) silence is golden is an intersting thing to say, In Taoism silence have alot of meaning, its part of the Tao like everything is, but it is one of the words often used to try and describe the Tao, and adding ''please observe'' only adds to the fact that it may be of that which he speaks - but i guess one needs to understand what Taoism is to get what im on about xP lol I doubt Serj is a Taoist, but Serj have stated himself what he believes, and from what i can tell Taoism comes very close to what he believes nevertheles - so makes sense it can seem like he speaks of the Tao. |

These ghosts I keep inside Shards of glass in my veins - the ghosts are the truths, the things he/she knows about, ghosts is because its hidden from others, unable to tell ppl about em for different reasons (or rather make them see these truths) they are like glass shards in hes/her veins. Release me from myself, release From my duality - knowing these truths without a way to do something about it hurts him/her as mentioned above, so he/she wants to be able to ignore them and live life as the free one, not the one he/she is now due to knowing these things, aka the duality. I face this as a soldier would But useless is my war - he/she faces these truths as a soldier would, but he/she knows that the war is useless cause people dont listen to what the their songs are really about.. The innocence that smiles today Tomorrow will be lying - trying to let 'you' know what these truths are. the duality is the key ;) Who is that really dies, when all the people look at me? And I'm twisting my fingers in my hair While a mirror reflects me - performance on stage, he/she tries to make 'you' listen and understand (the war, the truths) by opening up to his/her soul, (the mirror reflects him/her on the stage) but you dont understand. so is he/she is asking who is it, who is really dying in this war? is he/she perhaps just making it harder to win the war? Now I'm digging to the bone All the painting - now that he/she sees this much, he/she is digging to the bone, trying to picture it all out (all the paintings) Scratching at flesh, drives me mad To be alive and free - trying to figure it all out drives he/she mad, alive AND free, the duality. And the ghosts I keep inside myself How do they see me? - the ghost, truths, (the name of it) how do they/them (the ghosts) see him/her, do they understand? do they know wether he/she is helping them or not, or do they not 'see' what he/she is trying to say in the songs. While again I'm drowning With my soul - while again he/she is drowning, the glass shards in hes/her veins hurt, drives him/her mad. You will save me? - will you save him/her. aka. will 'you' join the fight? not let this war he/she is facing as a soldier, be in vain? I expect few to understand just like he/she. were i to paint the picture for you, you wouldnt see want to see the truth of the painting. peace out |
