Ben Harper – Another Lonely Day Lyrics 13 years ago
Ben has such an ability to create the right tone to match the meaning he is trying to put-forth in all his songs. Slow guitar strums, and a song of departure. One of the best out there, for sure.

Ben Harper – Walk Away Lyrics 13 years ago
Just coming out of a relationship which was very unhealthy, I can relate to this song so much.
My interpretation is that if you are in a relationship which you know just isn't working out, and you aren't getting along with the person or you just fight constantly; the idea Ben is suggesting is to not hold that person a prisoner of your love; instead release them from the weights of your relationships and set them free so that they can fully appreciate life and experience love to an entire new level.
Sometimes relationships don't go as planned, but you have to adjust, and when you can't bend or accommodate to the other person let them go, even if it will break your own life. Walk away, and be the bigger person.
Ben Harper, you did it again. Great Music, and much love.

Ben Harper – Burn One Down Lyrics 13 years ago
Obviously this song is about marijuana.
Further than the obvious interpretation of marijuana being a great thing "in Ben's opinion", there is the message of treat others how you would like to be treated.
Don't hate on people who smoke, just because you don't. Secondly, the song encourages friendship and happiness. And thirdly, whatever comes from the earth, whether it be marijuana or coffee (enjoy it and appreciate it).
Ben Harper's songs are all great and filled with many different meanings. That's why I love his music so much!

Ben Harper – Amen Omen Lyrics 13 years ago
A couple's problem slowly ignited, and left one person in question of why the other person left.. "I don't know where you came from or where you've gone" I interpreted to be like the other person was god-given and mysterious yet beautiful in every way, which relates to the title. The partner with their departure, leaves the other stranded and not knowing if they "can I find the place within" to live without the other person. With time, the partner questions whether he/she will see the other person ever again, and recollects things the other person said, and recollecting the final scene departure blinded by the noise of silence with which the one person left the other.
Point of song: Don't fucking break up with somebody, without clearly expressing why you are breaking up with that person, because for all of you out there who have been "dumped" over text or out of no where, SILENCE is the loudest most cruel thing you can leave a person with...
Peace, love skeet

Ben Harper – Don't Give Up on Me Now Lyrics 13 years ago
My girlfriend just broke up with me so (in the moment) I can relate to this song.
My interpretation is that you are not the center of the universe, and you can't control everyone's actions. Whoever you are in contact, try to appreciate them. Don't just do things for them that are artificial; express your love for them with feeling. Through the chorus, I think Ben is suggesting that mistakes should always be reconsidered or forgiven. I wish I could told my ex-girlfriend "don't give up on me now", but sometimes people just don't listen.
Great song. As always Ben Harper is the shit!
